TESTING
A NICHE BOOK BEFORE WRITING IT!
Gordon Burgett
This extremely useful guide comes in three formats, 30-minute audio CD,
a 17-page
written report, or a digital download of the written report. All are part of
the "Excellence in Publishing" Report Series from Communication
Unlimited.
The most
difficult part of niche publishing is inexpensively yet efficiently doing the
testing process first before you invest the time, energy, and above all, money,
in the final product. So here, Gordon explains step by step how you conduct a
small and quick direct mail market test to a selected core of the most likely
buyers. That usually means 200-500 of the prime nichefolk,
but the numbers can be much smaller. The test is to see, for $500 or less
(sometimes almost free), whether there are buyers willing to pay what you need
to receive before you go any farther. If they market exists (you will know by
the number of positive replies to a particular product at a set price), you go
full steam. If not, abandon the idea or retest it, with a new title or price or
benefits.
In all
three Gordon explains an actual case study built around a flyer, test note,
postcard, and mailing list.
Later,
then, if you are thinking of creating a niche-marketed book for a captive audience,
the basic text is Gordon's Publishing to Niche Markets.
The price? Just $15 for either the audio CD or report, plus shipping (and tax in CA), or $12 for the digital download.
for
this and related niche publishing books and reports.
