Book Promotion Address Labels
I’m Gordon Burgett,
owner of Communication Unlimited since 1982, and I’ve published 100+
books in that time. There is nothing duller or more irksome than updating promo
addresses, running them off on Avery labels, filling bags, and sending off free
books.
I can help you do the first step of that process a
lot faster. We will keep the most used addresses (and names) current and send
you those addresses in almost ready-to-use fashion for about 8.5 cents each.
That is, each year we will recheck the recipients’ names (like book
editors at the newspapers), update them, check the address, delete those who
seem to have faded, add the newcomers, and send the 10-page or so list to you
as a digital download. It should simply copy on Avery 5160/8160 or the
equivalent 10-down, three-across label sheets so all you have to do is pull
them off, apply the addresses, and mail your treasures! (If it doesn’t
quite fit, adjust the dimensions on your printer or just resize the files on
your computer, then print directly from the computer.)
The present list (just used for Niche Publishing and Your Living
Family Tree, our most recent 2008 books) contains 187
newspaper book editors (we start at about 50,000 subscribers), 40 book
reviewers we regularly send to, and six pre-pub addresses we contact early
on. I use Dan Poynter’s
most recent Self-Publishing Manual as my guide for which copy goes to which
editor and three industry lists for addresses and recipients.
That comes to 233 right now, and the list will be
updated each January. We’ll keep the price at $20.

There’s no magic here. We need a current list
so we’re just making that available to you. If somebody else had it this
reliably, I’d just buy it from them! Our time is worth a lot more than
